Senate Passes Resolution to Protect Civil Rights of All Americans
Last night - September 14--the US Senate voted unanimously to pass Senate Joint Resolution 23. The Resolution was introduced by Senators Tom Harkin, Orrin Hatch, Russell Feingold, and Patrick Leahy. The resolution stated that "the civil rights and civil liberties of all Americans, including Arab Americans and Muslim Americans, should be protected," and "condemn[ed] any acts of violence or discrimination against any Americans, including Arab Americans and Muslim Americans."
